History Museum

Samsung Lions held a ceremony to open the History Museum installed at Gyeongsan Ballpark at 4 pm, Monday, March 31, 2003. The progress report was made, followed by the
congratulatory remarks by CEO, and by a tape cutting ceremony. Attending the event were the club’s officials, players, officials from the affiliates, Chairman of Daegu and Gyeongbuk Baseball Association, etc. The History Museum is the first of its kind among the country’s eight baseball clubs since the launching of professional baseball in 1982. It is located inside the ballpark premises, featuring two stories and an area of 100.4 pyeong. On display on 1F are South Korea’s history of baseball, Samsung Lions’ chronological history,
victories and trophies, Lee Seung-yeop’s Zone, etc. On display on 2F are the club’s social responsibility activities, previous star players and managers, award, world professional baseball, baseball science (gloves, bats, and how to make baseballs), the history of uniforms, books and autographed balls, character products, etc. In addition, on 1F,
visitors can use computers to ask about players and to look for various baseball data. The materials here were donated by many retired baseball officials and players, and fans.
